Protest Forest Council Action!

Activists At Work! Results Of Your Efforts:

"Dear concerned citizen,

Thank you for expressing your opinion on the resolution endorsing continued logging of Jackson State Forest.

We passed the resolution without bothering to read your letter or the more than one hundred other letters we received. We already had our mind made up. The welfare of the Mendocino County Timber Industry is all that we care about.

Please feel free to continue to express your opinions to us.

Sincerely,

Members of the Mendocino Forest Council"

The Forest Council didn't actually write the above letter, but itis the letter they would have written if they were to accurately express how they treated the mail and calls received.

The Forest Council unanimously passed the resolution that praised past timber harvesting in Jackson State Forest and urged a quick resumption of logging there.

If you are angry at the contempt that the Council showed for the public, there is something you can do about it: Plan to attend when the offensive resolution will be considered by the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors in Ukiah on March 12 at 2:00 P.M.

I'll be giving you more information and more ways to help soon. In the meantime, mark your calendars for March 12. Attending this meeting is perhaps the most important contribution you will ever be able to make to preserving Jackson State Forest for your children!
