The Community Preservation Act is an important new tool that would help local communities raise funds to protect open space, support working farms and maintain community character. It allows local voters to hold a referendum to establish a modes real estate transfer fee of up to 2%, the revenues of which could be used for a local community preservation fund.  Please ask your Senator to become a sponsor of this important legislation.
