The short explanation of this alert was:

The NJ DEP is considering a development permit for the Takanassee Beach Club property in Long Branch, NJ.  Please sign the petition below and urge the DEP to deny the permit.

During the decades that the property was operated as a private beach club, it served thousands and gave members and guests a way to enjoy the ocean and Lake Takanassee.  The current plan calls for 19 luxury residences with a path to the beach and 5 public parking spaces.   There will be a net loss of public access to the ocean.

The property is in an erosion hazard area by DEP's own findings.  It is situated between the Lake and the ocean making it a terrible place to build.
