Support Clean Energy Standards

Strong federal clean energy standards have the potential to advance our nation towards greater energy independence, create new jobs and reduce global warming. We need Congressional leadership to strengthen the proposed standards currently being considered in Congress.

Without stronger renewable electricity and energy efficiency standards, we will miss out on opportunities to create many thousands of new jobs and save consumers billions of dollars. Please write to your representatives and tell them that stronger legislation will benefit our economy, our security and the future of our planet. Ask your representatives to support:

·    A Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) requiring that utilities get 25% of their electricity from clean renewable energy by 2025.

·    An Energy Efficiency Resource Standard (EERS) to establish simple energy savings requirements for major electricity and natural gas distributors. EERS provides cumulative savings by 2020, of 15% of electricity consumption and 10% of natural gas consumption.
