The short explanation of this alert was:
The Takanassee Beach Club property in Long Branch, NJ has been sold and is slated for development pending the approval of a CAFRA (Coastal Area Facility Review Act) permit from the NJ DEP. This is one of the last undeveloped beachfront properties from Sandy Hook to Island Beach State Park, one with incredible environmental and historic value. Developing this site would violate numerous DEP rules, yet the DEP is still considering this permit. Please send a message to DEP Commissioner Lisa Jackson to urge her to deny the development permit. We need more public beach parks, not more condos along the shore.
