Your Congressman, Mark Kirk, will vote on historic climate change legislation in the next few days. Congressman Kirk is one of the key swing votes who could determine if the U.S. will take action to solve climate change – we need you to help him make the right choice.

Congressman Kirk has a good environmental record, but he needs to hear that voters in his district are concerned about climate change. Please contact Mark Kirk’s office and urge him to vote "yes" on the Waxman-Markey climate change bill. 

The bill will reduce global warming pollution, focusing on clean fuels and stimulating the creation of “green” jobs.  Among its key provisions, the bill:

• Expands use of renewable energy such as wind and solar.
• Promotes energy efficiency, the most cost-effective way to reduce pollution and carbon emissions.
• Curbs carbon emissions by implementing a nationwide cap and trade system.

We need to move quickly. This important vote will take place in the next few days.  Pick up the phone today and call the Congressman’s office, express your position and ask for a “Yes” vote on the Waxman-Markey climate change bill.
