We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Environmental Defense Action Network.

The short explanation of this alert was:

The car companies are at it again. Instead of innovating with new technologies to cut pollution from cars, major automakers are fighting progress on global warming.  This time they're suing the state of California to block its landmark new law to cut global warming pollution from new cars (40% of California's greenhouse gas emissions come from vehicles).  The car companies include General Motors, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai and others.

Once again, automakers are putting off solutions to environmental challenges. Meanwhile, global warming's impacts become more visible every day.  Take action – send a message to the CEOs of the auto companies demanding they drop their lawsuit.  Tell them that consumers expect car companies to innovate, not to put the brakes on progress. Find out more.
