Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Wisconsin InterNetwork (WIN).The short explanation of this alert was: With hardly any warning whatsoever, one of the worst environmental bills of the legislative session was introduced to the Wisconsin Senate and Assembly Tuesday. Wisconsin's natural resources need your immediate help to defeat the improperly named "Jobs Creation Act of 2003." Among the many alarming proposals contained within the 114 page bill are measures to waive review by the Department of Natural Resources from actions impacting thousands of miles of public waters including relocating lengthy sections of streams, constructing bridges, grading stream banks and deciding placement of culverts and permanent boathouses. Possibly most alarming is the proposed bill severely impedes the rights of citizens to challenge permit applications by businesses seeking to expand in locations that would affect their lives and/or the environment. We encourage you to take IMMEDIATE action as the legislature will try to push this bill through as early as Thursday, November 13 or next week. Please personalize* and send the letter below to your state legislators. In addition, call your state legislator using the state's toll-free Legislative Hotline (800-362-9472). *Personalized letters hold more weight with decision makers.
