The Village of Bal Harbour and the WCI Communities fail to uphold Florida law to protect citizens’ rights to access the beach. While enduring 4 months of illegal beach access closure, the South Florida Chapter uncovered WCI and The Village hiding an illegal sub-lease from FL Dept of Transportation and the exchange of over $250,000 for the illegal closure. In addition, these two entities are currently seeking permit approval to permanently reduce the public’s ability to access the beach at Haulover Inlet following the construction.
