What's At Stake?Tell IOC Executive Members: No Torch in Tibet!
Tibetans and their supporters have been calling on the IOC to withdraw Tibet from the Olympic torch relay route. Chinese authorities have openly promised to deal with Tibetan protesters "harshly and with no leniency" - a clear indication that there will be further suffering if the IOC allows the torch to go through Tibet.
SFT is intensifying pressure on the IOC to withdraw Tibet from the torch relay route and we need your help!
The IOC's Executive Board members are meeting in Athens from June 4-6. This is their last chance to halt the torch from going to Tibet in just a few days time.
The 15 members of the IOC's Executive Board have the ultimate decision making power to stop the torch from going through Tibet.
Help us show that their unwillingness to withdraw Tibet from the torch relay route is not only putting Tibetan lives in danger, but is also irreversibly damaging the IOC's reputation and the future of the Olympic movement. Make sure each IOC Executive member hears from Tibetans and supporters worldwide. Call their offices and voice your concerns about the torch going to Tibet. Also, call for immediate media access to Tibet. Contact information is available at: www.studentsforfreetibet.org/IOCcontacts For more action ideas, visit: www.studentsforafreetibet.org/IOCActionWeek
