Support Clean Energy Standards
Federal clean energy standards will advance our nation towards greater energy independence and a transition to a low carbon economy. We need Congressional leadership to get there.
Ask your Congressional representatives to sponsor bills for strong clean energy standards:
· A Renewable Electricity Standard (RES) requiring that utilities get 25% of their electricity from clean renewable energy by 2025.
· An Energy Efficiency Resource Standard (EERS) to establish simple energy savings requirements for major electricity and natural gas distributors. EERS provides cumulative savings by 2020, of 15% of electricity consumption and 10% of natural gas consumption.
When your representatives in Congress sponsor legislation, they are taking a stand and leading the way for a clean energy future.
