Help protect vital, undersea, rocky reef habitats from destructive fishing gear by urging your U.S. Representative to co-sponsor the Ocean Habitat Protection Act. This bill, which was introduced on March 19, restricts the size of "rockhopper" and "roller" gears that commercial fishermen use in rocky areas. These heavy gears are types of bottom trawls that smash fragile sea floor habitats used by fish and other ocean wildlife for feeding areas and shelter.
