Tom Petri (R-Fond Du Lac) can make that happen. We need you to let him know how important better train service is to you! Both the House and Senate have passed bills authorizing important grant programs that will pay 80% of the cost states will incur to improve their tracks, signals, train equipment, and other infrastructure. Now it's up to a Congressional committee to reconcile the two bills--and Rep. Petri is on that committee. We need you to let Rep. Petri know how important Amtrak is to you, and how vital you think it is for him to make sure that Congress provides enough money for states to start working on their rail infrastructure now. In these days of $4/gallon gas, concerns about global warming, and worries about imported oil, the time is indeed now to make America's trains run faster, more reliably, and more comfortably!
