Single-use plastic bags represent one of the greatest environmental catastrophes of our generation and now is the time for Portland to lead on this issue! Please take action through this form to send an email to Portland City Commissioners urging their action to ban the plastic bag in Portland. Many other cities have taken similar action recently including San Francisco and Oakland which both recently passed ordinance bans on plastic bags. Even some countries have entirely passed legislation on this issue such as China, so we're behind the curve here in the US.

Now is the time for Portland to lead on this issue, please take action immediately! A plastic bag ban ordinance is an effective step toward preventing marine debris, SAVING MONEY, and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. An ordinance makes good sense for both environmental and economic reasons, now is the time for action.
