We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Environmental Advocates of New York.

The short explanation of this alert was:

New York is dangerously close to bankrupting the state's environmental trust fund.

If plans to swipe $50 million from the Environmental Protection Fund come to pass, the state will start writing checks it cannot cash and hundreds of projects across the state will be stopped in their tracks.

But it's not too late to do something about it. We need your help to tell Governor David Paterson and Budget Director Laura Anglin NOT take $50 million from the Environmental Protection Fund.

Raiding the Fund of its last dollar will jeopardize the health of New York's natural resources, possibly for generations.

Act today
and ask state leaders to protect the Fund
and keep our natural resources safe.
