We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit Surfrider Foundation Action Network.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Trestles is in jeopardy!

The Orange County Transportation Corridor Agency is seeking to build a sixteen-mile long extension to 241 Foothill South Toll Road. The proposed alignment for this project will run directly through and along San Mateo Creek. If constructed, not only would this project directly threaten the world class surf breaks at Trestles, and obliterate Southern California’s last remaining pristine coastal watershed, the project would also result in significant degradation to two environmentally sensitive areas; the Donna O’Neill Land Conservancy and the San Mateo Creek Campground.

We can stop this project, however we need your voice!  Please take a moment to send a letter to Governor Schwarzenegger and let him know that our surf breaks and coastal resources need to be protected!
