The short explanation of this alert was:

The Bush administration is currently negotiation with the Timber Products Company (TPC) to re-open a veneer mill in Ketchikan, Alaska that would jeopardize wild and roadless areas in the Tongass by artificially increasing demand for ancient trees. The same mill was operated by Gateway Forest Products for less than 3 months before they went bankrupt. Help us tell TPC that we don’t want them to take trees out of the Tongass to be turned into plywood!
