We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.

The short explanation of this alert was:

On September 27 and 28, President Bush is hosting a meeting for the 15 most polluting countries to discuss global warming and continuing to promote his voluntary measures which just don't work.

The U.S. must get started reducing its global warming gas emissions, and the U.S. Congress has taken some steps in that direction. Both the House and the Senate have passed versions of an energy bill, but they need to finish the job and show the world that we are serious about doing our part about climate change. Along with an energy bill that includes fuel efficiency and renewable energy, Congress needs to put a mandatory limit on all the greenhouse gases we produce.

We need your help: Please urge your Members of Congress to lead the way on global warming by finishing the energy bill and supporting a carbon cap.

It helps if you put the message in your own words! If you have time, please edit the note below to reflect your own voice.
