In the "Heart of the NJ Highlands," the Township of West Milford has applied to the NJDEP to divert 25.73 million gallons of water per month from a series of new and existing township wells. Recent water supply reports show West Milford’s groundwater supply is already overtaxed. Additional diversion will greatly impact stream flows, wetlands, threatened and endangered wildlife and surrounding private wells while paving the way for high-density development in sensitive areas. With similar permits pending in the Highlands the time to speak out is now! Too much is too much!
