200,000 people in the Bay Area are on the verge of losing Amtrak service. The San Joaquins Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA) voted to shut down service to the Pittsburg/Antioch station which serves tens of thousands of riders each year. The station, in the heart of historic downtown Antioch, is a vital link connecting the community and the broader region and it is central to the city’s transit-oriented development plan. The SJJPA’s arbitrary decision shocked and angered the community, the Mayor, their Assemblymember and even their Congressmember. The good news is that the SJJPA can still reverse its decision and keep servicing the Pittsburg & Antioch communities.

Join the Transbay Coalition and the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) this Friday by calling into the SJJPA board meeting and speaking out to save service for the Pittsburg/Antioch communities.

We strongly encourage people who live in a county served by the SJJPA (like Alameda and Contra Costa Counties) to call in.
