#RESIST

Start: Saturday, February 11, 2017 4:00 PM

This is a march against President Trump's executive orders, including his Muslim/refugee ban under the farce of national security, his push for the Dakota Access Pipeline, the international gag order on abortion, and repeal of the Affordable Healthcare Act. It's also against his acutely unfit Cabinet members, notably: Betsy DeVoss, Andrew Puzder, Steve Bannon, Scott Pruitt, and more. The march is also against private prisons, Wall Street, offshore tax havens, student loan industry, corporate graft, War on Drugs, and more that will no doubt be augmented under his administration.

Politics stripped naked and bare to its Greek root means, "of the citizen." Not of the PAC, of the lobbyist, or even of the Senator. It's time we stop using community as a marketing slogan, and instead we truly start wedding our civic ideals with concrete self-interest.

There is a strange poverty in the English language to really describe how critical this moment in time is. We truly are in the middle of a watershed moment in American history. It's time we really buckle up and fight for who we are!

At 4 PM, we will gather at Woodward Park before marching to Riverpark, where we will rally for an hour or two.

"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me: I lift my lamp beside the golden door." Emma Lazarus
