Approve the Frida Kahlo Quick-Build Project

The Frida Kahlo Quick-Build Project will create a two-way separated bikeway on Frida Kahlo Way and Judson Avenue, increase safety for all people, especially those walking, biking, and using public transportation in the area, and help people shift trips away from cars, helping our city address our roadway safety crisis and the climate crisis. The "quick-build" project was started in Spring 2023 and originally planned to be implemented in Fall/Winter 2023, but has been delayed and watered down, due to SFMTA failing to move the project forward as originally planned. This is unacceptable and SFMTA needs to move the project forward for approval and implementation immediately.

Please sign the petition to urge SFMTA and Mayor Breed to move this project forward for approval and installation immediately, putting an end to unnecessary delays that result in more people being killed and injured from roadway crashes as well as the project's design being worsened and made more ineffective.

San Francisco faces a roadway safety crisis and climate crisis largely due to the City's inaction on improving street designs to, for example, create protected — or separated — bike lanes, which help people shift trips away from cars, decrease car traffic, demand for parking, noise, air pollution, and climate emissions. Immediately approving the Frida Kahlo Quick-Build Project is a small but necessary step that SFMTA and Mayor Breed can take to increase roadway safety and help address our roadway safety crisis and climate crisis. Please sign the petition now and share it with your friends and neighbors.
