After years of hard work, we now have the LIPA Public Power Act, legislation that will make the Long Island Power Authority fully public! This is the result of Reimagine LIPA, a campaign of grassroots ratepayers and organizations committed to a more reliable, affordable, and accountable electric system for us all.

Making LIPA fully public will help millions of people, save tens of millions of dollars, improve service, increase reliability, ensure more accountability and transparency, and speed the transition away from fossil fuels, all while maintaining the current unionized workforce.

Please take a moment to email Assembly members & Senators on Long Island and in the Rockaways, as well as Governor Hochul, to tell them we need to pass the LIPA Public Power Act early in the 2024 legislative session.
