North Carolina is facing a child care crisis. Last year hundreds of child care programs closed, and 1500 more providers are at risk of closure this year. We must focus on stabilizing the child care system and preventing more closures.

Access to high quality, affordable child care is essential for families to be able to work, knowing our children are being well taken care of and are safe. At the same time, parents being able to work is critical for our state’s economy to function.

Right now NC child care advocates are using our outside voices to remind lawmakers to make sure investments to stabilize child care are included in North Carolina’s state budget. Our state’s children and families can’t afford to wait any longer.
