#FreeOurFamilies Protest Playdates
Take Action
Like so many of you, we’ve been horrified at the images coming out of the detention centers across the country of children who have been ripped from their families.
Hand in Hand’s #SanctuaryHomes campaign, in collaboration with FamiliesBelong.org and National Nurses United, is organizing a #MamasWeekofAction (and beyond!) to help people to take local action to end the cruelty of our current immigration policies.
We are offering tools and a framework for anyone, especially those who care for children, to host their own actions, from family playdate actions at detention centers and ICE offices across the country, to vigils, to protests at the offices of local elected officials.
These family-friendly actions are one way to join the fight to keep immigrant families together and all immigrants free from incarceration and detention. Find or create you own action here!
We helped organize this headline-grabbing action in just 2 days. You can too. People all over the country want to act NOW.
We are hosting weekly calls on Mondays at 6 pm PST / 9 pm EST to talk to the organizers of the NY Action and staff at Hand in Hand on how you can organize the best action that will have impact and be safe for your family. Links and info will also be updated in our action guide.
