#WhatWomenDemand August Reset
"Women, if the soul of the nation is to be saved, I believe that you must become its soul."
- Coretta Scott King
The failure of the Senate’s most recent attempt to strip health care from tens of millions of Americans proves yet again that the power of the people truly is greater than the people in power. Thanks to hundreds of thousands of phone calls, letters, meetings, and protests, people across America made their voices heard and changed the course of history. But our work is far from done.
Now more than ever, we must keep our momentum going. The House and Senate will be in recess from July 31st through September 4th. We call on you to meet with your representatives while they’re in the neighborhood to tell them about the issues you want them to address when they return to Washington this fall.
There are myriad issues that profoundly impact our lives on which the voices of women and our allies must be heard. Below, you’ll find resources about each of the Unity Principles that underpin our commitment to an intersectional resistance and to each other. Let them inspire you to educate and compel your representatives to take action. Please join us in using these tools to continue to drive the conversation. Let’s keep organizing from a place of love to shape the world we want to see.
