Havant Green Party have teamed up with Havant Climate Alliance and Havant Friends of the Earth to host a Conference on Saturday 14th September 2024, 10-4 at The Pallant Centre, Havant.
The Conference will be an apolitical event to discuss our theme which is ‘We need to talk about water’. We will have a range of excellent speakers who will share their local expertise on the many important talking points about water in the local area, including rivers, the reservoir, recycling effluent, seas and pollution.
Speakers for the morning session:- Sarah Hughes, River Trust & Rayner Piper, River Fly - What is happening to our River Ems and other chalk streams?
- Beth Howden, 3 Harbours & Bianca Carr, Final Straw Foundation - What is happening in our harbours?
- Tracey Viney, expert on water management & Bob Comlay, Havant Civic Society - Effluent recycling
- Caitlin Woombs, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Sea Grass Project - Promoting biodiversity in the harbour

Attendees and members of the public are invited to take part in an art and photography competition on the theme 'Water'. Pieces will be displayed on the day and separated into age categories: Junior - 11 and under, Youth - 12-17, Adult - 18+.
