Your Immediate Role
Become familiar with proper lobbying activities in that we encourage you to be active with your General Assembly elected officials on the telephone, in person in your local district, by e mail and especially on VSC NAACP's Lobby Day at the Virginia General Assembly.
To help you become more effective in your lobby efforts, we have formed a series of General Assembly Effective Lobby Methods video conference calls. Details and schedule: TBA during conference call
Desired Outcomes
Increased visibility for VSC NAACP during the 2017 General Assembly session, to more consistently and effectively let our voices and concerns be heard about proposed legislation and current laws that impact VSC NAACP members and African American communities across Virginia.
To begin the process of building a "new" and much more energized Body Politic thanks to increased VSC NAACP direct advocacy, efforts and activities.
Given the tumultuous times we all face in the future, we need EVERYONE to become more active in the "halls of power" here in Virginia as VSC NAACP strives to influence the direction of legislation in efforts to better represent our members, families and constituents.
Provide an opportunity for select partnering organization to voice their concerns as well.
