This is a virtual event

This free, two-part workshop is designed for experienced advocates to come together with those who are new to budget advocacy to make a collective impact on the 2021-2023 state budget.

PART 1: BUDGET MATTERS 101
The first hour (10-11 am) is optional to those who've attended our Budget Action Workshops in the past, and will cover budget basics for those who are new or who could use a refresher: how a budget becomes law, what opportunities are available for public input, lessons learned in past budget organizing, and pro tips for making your voice heard during the budget process from veteran organizers.

PART 2: BUDGET MATTERS 201 The second part (11am-1pm) brings all of us together to collaborate on 2021 Budget Action. This two-hour workshop will include expert insights into the 2021-2023 budget process and political landscape, plus a workshop on making a statewide impact on our issues by delivering effective, powerful testimony that is heard widely beyond the walls of the hearing room and building relationships to ensure that our demands become realities for our communities and our state.

This local action-focused workshop is co-sponsored by Wisconsin Public Education Network and the ACLU of Wisconsin, and advocates for all issues are welcome to attend.
