It is sponsored by Veterans For Peace, New York City, and many other peace organizations and individuals from both the U.S. and Japan.

This year, we are extending a special invitation to English speaking people. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for the MC, Keynote Speech, and Q&A. The video presentations for all speakers will be subtitled.

Our panel of speakers promises to be an impressive one. They will analyze and discuss the actions of the U.S. military across the globe with some emphasis on Afghanistan and compare the recruiting methods of the military in the U.S. and Japan.

We will also hear the story of a father of a veteran who committed suicide, experts' comments on PTSD, moral Injury, and suicide in Japan and the U.S.

We also have a guest speaker from Afghanistan who recently relocated to Canada.

This presentation is a continuation of the Veterans For Peace Speaking tour. Begun in 2016, the Speaking Tour has been an annual event now celebrating its 6th year. In earlier years it was a live tour which took speakers from the U.S. to various cities in Japan focusing on the reality of war from the viewpoint of primary information sources.   Due to the pandemic, we have been using Zoom to conduct our annual event since last year.

We expect that the information provided at this event will be useful in considering what Japan and the U.S. will do in the future and what they should do for a more peaceful world.

We look forward to your company at this exciting event.

Sincerely,

2021 VFP Peace Speaking Tour Steering Committee
