Plantiful October Webinars
Reducing Global Heating
by Changing your Eating
Kingston City Council has proclaimed that the month of October is Plantiful! In support, 350 Kingston is hosting this speaker series on Zoom at the times listed below.
You probably know we must reduce global carbon emissions dramatically in the next seven years or we’re headed for disaster. To keep a climate that supports us, we have to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions enough to limit warming to 1.5 degrees C. What does a 1.5 degrees C diet look like? What foods are low carbon, how do you cook them and does it still taste good? We'll hear from three Kingstonians - a chef, a medical doctor and a climate activist about the climate impact of the foods we eat and give you a chance to ask them your questions. The series welcomes people who are new to the idea that food has a carbon footprint and those who already know they want to experiment with it. Each event will start with a 25 minute presentation by the speaker on Zoom, followed by a 35-minute question period. Your host will be Mary Jane Philp.
