After a special election on Tuesday, Democrats will almost certainly have a majority of 32 seats in New York’s State Senate. But they won’t be able to pass progressive legislation or resist Trump. Thanks to a handful of Senators like Sen. Savino, Republicans continue to run the State Senate – blocking progress on everything we need to accomplish, from expanding healthcare, protecting immigrants, to ending corruption and expanding voting rights.
