The age of climate gradualism is over, as unprecedented disasters are exacerbated by inequalities of race and class. We need profound, radical change. A Green New Deal can tackle the climate emergency and rampant inequality at the same time. About the Authors:

Kate Aronoff is a staff writer at the New Republic and a Senior Fellow at Data For Progress. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Intercept, the New York Times, The Nation, Harpers, Jacobin, Dissent, and In These Times, among other outlets. With Michael Kazin and Peter Dreier, she is the co-editor of We Own The Future: Democratic Socialism--American Style.

Daniel Aldana Cohen is an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he directs the Socio-Spatial Climate Collaborative. He's a Senior Fellow at Data for Progress and a member of People's Action's Homes Guarantee campaign policy team. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, Nature, The Nation, Jacobin, Public Books, the Verso blog, and Dissent.
