Summary  50,000 Democrats skipped the 2014 midterm elections in CA-07's Congressional district (Sacramento).  13,000 of them are still registered in Sacramento today and will likely skip the 2018 midterm election.  We're executing a really well understood voter pledge strategy to keep that from happening.

Description
In the 7th Congressional District of California, there are 13,000 Democrats registered today who previously skipped voting in the midterms. In the 2018 midterms the margin of win for this seat is expected to be probably 1,500 votes. Our project between now and 2018's elections is to knock on the doors of these "midterm skipping" voters and ask them to recommit to voting. We have a voter reactivation program that involves people signing two postcards promising to vote that we mail back to them right before the June 2018 and November 2018 elections.

Come out with us for a short afternoon where we give you a small canvassing packet of 25 registered Democrats who skip midterms. These are great conversations with people who share your Democratic values, they just forgot to vote in 2014. Our previous canvassing work suggests that for every 2 registered Democrats you speak to, 1 will say yes. It's a lot easier than registering new voters!

Getting them to commit to voting in 2018 is an easy ask, and previous canvassers talk about how it's a joy to ask for something so easy.  We have a greater than 50% success rate when speaking to the voter to ask them to commit to voting in the midterms.

If you don't volunteer in this midterm election, it's possible this seat could flip from Democrat to Republican. Don't regret not volunteering after the election!
