AFRICOM webinar with Dr. Horace Campbell

This webinar is organized by the National Lawyers Guild and hosted by Kerry McLean, member of the Steering Committee of the NLG International Committee and chair of the Africa Subcommittee.

Professor Horace G. Campbell is an internationally-known peace and justice activist. He holds a joint Professorship in the Department of African American Studies and the Department of Political Science at Syracuse University.

Professor Campbell has taught on four continents. For example he taught at the University of Dar es Salaam from 1981-1987 and more recently was the Distinguished Kwame Nkrumah Chair at the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana.

Professor Campbell's most recent book is "Global NATO and the Catastrophic Failure in Libya: Lessons for Africa in the Forging of African Unity." His most well-known book, Rasta and Resistance: from Marcus Garvey to Walter Rodney is going through its eighth printing, and has been translated into French, Spanish, Turkish and Italian. He is also the author of Reclaiming Zimbabwe: The Exhaustion of the Patriarchal Model of Liberation. Professor Campbell is completing a book on US Militarism and African Independence.

He has authored over 100 journal articles and a dozen monographs, including a recent publication entitled"The Quagmire of US Militarism in Africa.
