Annapolis lobby to protect undocumented immigrants

Start: Monday, February 27, 2017 3:00 PM

The Trump Administration is ramping up anti-immigrant attacks. They would strip civil protections from undocumented people, reverse deferred action policies (DACA), institute massive deportations, and fight local sanctuary policies, withholding federal funds from communities that protect undocumented neighbors.

Proposed legislation, the Maryland Law Enforcement and Governmental Trust Act, is a protective step that will fight the anti-immigrant agenda... and bolster public safety in our communities by ensuring that immigrants who seek police help don't have to fear deportation.

The Takoma Park Mobilization is joining CASA de Maryland for a February 27 Annapolis rally and General Assembly lobbying. We meet at 3 pm in Takoma Park at the co-op and drive to CASA’s headquarters at 8151 15th Ave in Hyattsville and then head to Annapolis together. We will Asbury United Methodist Church - 87 West St, Annapolis, MD 21401.
