Art and Activism

Learn how art is integral to an activist movement, with this workshop on Art and Activism, Tash Brennfleck an artist and art historian presents the relationship between art and change. As the first workshop of the Arts Team from Tomorrow Movement, this workshop will present the histories of art and activism and explore awareness, and action mediated through art.

This workshop provides the historical and social role of art in mass movements. From the French Revolution to the fight against animal testing in cosmetics, Art and Activism will provide the answers to the question what can art teach us for a healthy campaign asking for change?

Happening at 6pm over zoom on Monday the 26th October, this hour and half workshop can be engaged within your living room, your bedroom, or in the garden during twilight. This workshop will be recorded, and there will be a transcript and slides available before and after the workshop. Please let us know if you require the transcript before the workshop.

This workshop is developed by Tomorrow Movement, a movement of young people striving for a fairer, more equal future. The movement is focused on centring young people’s voices and experience. The movement is an inclusive organisation, united in the fight for a society with good jobs, great public services, and ultimately a thriving climate.

This workshop takes place on the lands of First Nations peoples and has been developed and facilitated on Bunurong Land of the Kulin Nations. Tomorrow Movement and the facilitator pay their respects to elders and First Nations communities past, present, and becoming.
