BARC Union Meeting

Start: Wednesday, July 26, 2017 6:30 PM

End: Wednesday, July 26, 2017 8:00 PM

Please join your coworkers for a meeting on how you can take steps to make BARC a better place to work. We will be outlining a plan to stop this new Vet Tech/ACT position, talk about what to do if you are working in a hostile work environment at BARC, raises coming in August, and how joining the union will give you the resources to ensure that you can go to work in peace and so you can focus on giving the animals and the public 100%. Our Executive  Director will be there to handle your workplace issues. He has been handling grievances for BARC employees for the last 5 years.

After this meeting you will:

Know your rights as a civil servant which will make you feel empowered and less fearful of management. You don't work in the private sector - you don't work at Petsmart - you have additional rights as a government worker with a union.

Be more connected with your coworkers. Most of the staff are union members, you have to look after each other. HOPE's motto is: Where we go one, we go all. You don't suffer your conditions alone, and what happens to one of you, will eventually happen to all of you.

Learn how to stand up for yourselves and use City resources to make your work environment better.
