Behind the Curve: Film Screening & Discussion

Start: Sunday, April 19, 202602:30 PM

Behind the Curve movie ad

Join the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry (SHL) for a screening of the documentary Behind the Curve (2018), followed by a group discussion.

This thought-provoking film offers an empathetic, close-up look at the modern Flat Earth movement in the United States. It follows prominent figures in the movement as they conduct experiments, build community, and attempt to challenge mainstream scientific understanding. Along the way, the film raises deeper questions about belief, identity, and how people respond when evidence contradicts deeply held views.

This screening builds on recent SHL programming, including our February workshop on productive dialogue in polarized times and our March member gathering featuring Coleman Watts on why people fall for conspiracies, cults, and misinformation.
