Berkeley:Green New Deal Town Hall with Gray Panthers

Start: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 1:30 PM

End: Wednesday, April 24, 2019 4:00 PM

Who stands to benefit from the Green New Deal? What's at stake? How can Elders and Youth organize together to create a better future for all?

Join East Bay Gray Panthers (people often forget that our motto, since 1973, remains: Youth and Age in Action Together) at this Town Hall to hear young leaders in our community share about how the Green New Deal is the biggest opportunity of our lifetime to invest in the American people, and what that looks like for us, our families, and our community. What does it mean for them? How can we be allies?

We are seeking partners who share our models of community organizing to join us in making sure this meeting is effective for all. How can we translate between generations to help build a movement? Where is there a role for our elder wisdom and life experiences?

We know that being during a weekday, this gathering will not be accessible to all, so we will support others in doing an evening/weekend event - we do not want to be the only Berkeley Town Hall.
