Bike Jam for a Bike Grid - Dickens Ave Greenway Edition

Start: Saturday, October 01, 2022 2:00 PM

This week we will be jamming up the 43rd ward and along the proposed Dickens Ave Greenway Project to remind the community of what was promised to happen. The Greenway was approved in June 2021 and construction hasn’t started. The quarry strike has been over. Chicagoans are tired of waiting for an alder who will prioritize safety on our streets.

See you at the 606 entrance on Marshfield Ave, Saturday, September 28th at 2pm. The jam will end at a spot where folks can chat with each other and learn how to get involved with the fight for our streets. It's time for a #bikegridnow. All wheels welcome!

The number of pedestrians and cyclists being killed on our city streets is rising at a horrifying rate. Chicago needs safe streets for all. A bike grid is a huge leap in that direction, creating safer streets for cyclists, pedestrians, children, and motorists alike.

We are actively lobbying our alders, CDOT, the mayor, and other local organizations but we need your help to make sure they hear us and see us.

The City, the mayor, our alders, CDOT, and everyone else will have no choice but to hear us.
