Building People Power Campaign Virtual Advocacy Day

Start: 2020-04-09 11:00:00 UTC Atlantic Time (Canada) (GMT-04:00)

End: 2020-04-09 13:00:00 UTC Atlantic Time (Canada) (GMT-04:00)

This is a virtual event

In light of the coronavirus we have decided to turn this year’s Advocacy Day into a digitally-based event.

COVID-19 won’t slow the momentum of the Building People Power movement. Legislators will still make decisions so we need to still be on the front line as the voice of equity for our community.

On Advocacy Day, ordinary citizens will provide members of the General Assembly with the information they need to make the best decisions they need for black and brown people.

During the day, participants will:

  • Learn about Building People Power's key advocacy issues and solutions during COVID-19 and for the future. We'll discuss five different topics: Economics, Housing, Health, Criminal Justice, and Education

  • Receive training on the role of Delaware state legislators and how a bill becomes law, and

  • Get time to talk directly to legislators, advocates, and the larger community about key issues and solutions

So no matter where you are Thursday April 9th between 11am and 1:00pm, you can participate from the comfort of your own home. All you’ll need is a smartphone or computer.

To participate you’ll just click this link and download the Zoom app on your smartphone or the application for your computer. If you’ve never used Zoom here’s our how-to guide.

This will be a great opportunity for us to show that COVID-19 cannot stop our community from being heard in the State Legislature. So RSVP today!
