Project Background: Community Trail Workdays are a new collaborative partnership, among local trail maintenance groups (*see full list below), to steward public trails in Burke County, NC. As we develop more trails, more people are needed to help ensure their longevity. If you love using Burke County's trails, please consider joining us for community trail workdays! (Check Foothills volunteer calendar to RSVP)

Volunteer Mission: This is the 8th annual Wolf Pit Trail Workday! Community members have come together for the past 8 years to keep Wolf Pit Trail in good condition. Tasks will include: corridor clearing, smoothing tread, cleaning drainage features, and more.

How to Prepare: Expect to walk uphill on rocky, steep terrain for 1-5 miles, carrying a tool (distances will vary depending on your group). Dress in layers, wear close toed shoes, and bring a daypack for snacks and water. *NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED & EXTRA SNACKS/WATER WILL BE AVAILABLE*

Where to meet: Since there is limited parking, please be at the Linville Boat Launch by 8:30AM to carpool to the Wolf Pit trailhead (approximately 10 min drive)
