Join CAF friends for hot chocolate and a hike in Discovery Park as we seek awe, joy, and wonder in nature together! Please dress for the weather and bring a friend as we share fall wonder at Seattle's largest city park.

Meeting Location: South Parking Lot.  See the map below, and note that Bus 24 stops about a 5-minute walk from this parking lot.

Items to bring - Dress for the weather! Sturdy shoes/boots, hat/gloves, rain jacket, water bottle, snacks in pockets, etc.

Activities:  Emory, Allie, and Maggie will lead us on a 3-mile loop. We'll play "Otter Steals Fish" in the big meadow, behold the Salish Sea, convene for a Climate mini-discussion led by Maggie, and share cheese plates, cookies, and hot cocoa at the end of the hike!

Look for moments of beauty every day, be open to joy from small things, and embrace the fun of discovery. Finding joy from learning new things, noticing how amazing our world and friends are, and taking a playful approach to life will feed us.

HOW TO PRACTICE

Seek Awe: Regularly spend time in nature and find activities that fascinate you. Art? The stars? Music? Studying Physics? Play! Turn tasks into games. Dance if there’s music. Follow what gives you pleasure and see where it leads.

Celebrate Small Joys: Make it a habit to recognize and celebrate small successes every day.

Share your Wonder: Bring others into your awe and joy, multiplying happiness and inspiring others.
