Our healthcare system is under attack as never before. Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security is on the federal chopping block and if Trump’s cuts go through, each and every one of us will pay the price. In the face of this crisis, Governor McKee’s current state budget doubles down on Trump’s cuts, proposing $25 million in hospital cuts, failing to properly fund our community health clinics and cutting safe staffing in our nursing homes. This direction is dead wrong.

Instead, we need a transformative healthcare budget that protects and invests in Medicaid and raises revenue through tax cuts on the wealthiest among us. We need elected officials to stand up and fight for every Rhode Island and say no to Medicaid cuts in Washington and here at home.
