Casco Bay High school walk out
Start: Wednesday, March 14, 2018•10:00 AM
Casco Bay High School! Please join your fellow students as we take part in a national movement to walk out of class at 10am on March 14th to honor the 17 victims of the Parkland, FL school shooting and to demand changes to our gun laws!
This event is much bigger than just Casco Bay--schools across Portland, the state of Maine and throughout the country will be participating. If we unify and show adults that we demand change, maybe something positive can come out of this and their lives won’t be in vain.
This event is trying to show the leaders of our country that we demand more. We want to feel safe at school and by marching out of school on March 14 we will show the leaders of our country that we will not just sit around watching, we will rise up and make change. This could change the future of our country, it could save the lives of others. During this event we will march down to the bus stop at Allen Ave to show the public that we want more gun control.
Just imagine if millions of kids like us walk out of class to show our leaders that we are demanding change. You could be part of it so please join us!
Students and staff have the right to teach and learn in an environment free from the worry of being gunned down in their classrooms or on their way home from school.
Parents have the right to send their kids to school in the mornings and see them home alive at the end of the day.
We are not safe at school. We are not safe in our cities and towns. Congress must take meaningful action to keep us safe and pass federal gun reform legislation that address the public health crisis of gun violence. We want Congress to pay attention and take note: many of us will vote this November and many others will join in 2020.
Join us in saying #ENOUGH!
