Chicago College Student Real Food Convergence
Start: Saturday, April 18, 2026•10:00 AM
Location: Chicago• TBD, Chicago, IL 60602 US
This day long event is the kickoff of ongoing college student organizing across Chicago!
What: Real Food Challenge trainings on Corporate Food Systems and Campaigning 101. Other discussions and workshops; lunch and snacks (provided!); connection with other students and opportunities to join in the creation of the Chicago College Student Real Food Working Group.
Why: Colleges and Universities spend roughly $300 million annually on food for students. This money can be spent on giant corporations that profit from extracting from students, our communities, the earth, and food chain workers, or we can make sure it is supporting a food system that truly serves us all! Food Justice professionals, growers, city officials and others are working to create a Just food system, and college students need to come together and take a seat at the table!
Convergence specifics and more details are in the works!
Join this important event and help bring student power to the widespread food justice work!
