Governor Newsom’s oil regulators have just approved permits to let Big Oil upgrade and redrill hundreds of oil wells. Many of these so-called “re-work” permits have been approved within 3,200 ft of homes, schools, hospitals, and other sensitive sites.

This is exactly what we feared would happen after Big Oil bought enough petition signatures to delay California’s health buffer between oil drilling and neighborhoods. The Governor continues to publicly condemn neighborhood drilling, but his top oil regulators have gone rogue, and he needs to rein them in NOW.
