PNND and Basel Peace Office are organising a special roundtable meeting of legislators (parliamentarians and mayors) with youth campaigners from the climate, peace and nuclear disarmament movements in Europe.
Confirmed participants include the President of Mayors for Peace Europe and youth leaders from Abolition 2000, Move the Nuclear Weapons Money campaign, PragueVision Institute for Sustainable Security, PNND, World Future Council and others.
The event will include the inaugural Basel Peace and Climate action by European Youth (PACEY) Award. This is a €5000 award to support an outstanding or innovative European youth project or proposal on action for the climate, peace and/or nuclear disarmament.
The roundtable meeting will be held in conjunction with the Basel Peace Forum, an annual event involving experts and decision-makers from politics, business, civil society, and academia focusing on key issues for maintaining peace in Europe and globally. The theme of the 2020 Basel Peace Forum, which takes place on January 9-10, is Cities in Time of Conflict & Peace. The program includes some exciting interative pavilions, one of which will be run by PNND and the Basel Peace Office.
