The last year has been horrific for people seeking asylum at the southern border. While seeking refuge from violence in their home countries, families have faced violence and abuse when they arrive in the U.S.

Seven children have died in US custody and reports continue to emerge that expose the cruel and inhumane treatment of people in detention centers - children sleeping on the concrete floor in brightly lit rooms, behind fences, malnourished.
